The unpublished United States reference row that supplies the national home-value, income, and commute comparisons used in WhereAtHome scoring.
WhereAtHome stores its scoring reference values in an unpublished us-national row rather than presenting them as a city profile. The row currently supplies the national typical home value, median household income, and average commute time used to compare individual cities.
The home-value seed uses a June 2025 United States Zillow Home Value Index (ZHVI) observation. The income and commute seeds record U.S. American Community Survey (ACS) 2023 vintages. The seeded reference values are $410,800 for typical home value, $74,580 for median household income, and 27.6 minutes for average commute time.
The Zillow collector refreshes the U.S. home-value series when it imports a newer national observation. These values are comparison inputs for the WhereAtHome Score, not a claim that every place shares the same housing or commuting conditions.
